As nasty as it sounds my son the same and we have to be cruel to be kind and pin him in the beginning now he take it without no problem and he autistic

Agree with Tammy, unfortunately if they're not taking it but need it you need to be cruel to be kind. Once he realises the taste isn't so bad he usually comes round

@Tammy he just spits it out like full blown spits it out and we have tried pin him down but agian he spits it out xx

If it’s a liguid I mix it with water or milk, ask your pharmacist first🥰 my little girl HATES taking her vitamins and I just mix them with water and she loves it x

@Holly I’ve tried mixing it , he has little sips xx

@Megan jade when pinning put the medicine bit by bit in the side of the mouth and don't allow him up till it all gone or does he like yourget I would but it in a little but of yourget as long as he getting most of it should be fine

I saw a TikTok where a mum put it on the edge of a can of soft drink and the child drank it without hesitation

Mine vomits on any and all meds. No idea why. The only way I can get it in is literally half a ml in each spoon of a yogurt, which is fun to do in secret while feeding him it! 😆 xx

I have to give my son liquid Claritin for his allergies everyday. I mix it with a little bit of juice. Sometimes he will try to fill his cup all the way but I have to tell him to finish the small amount of juice first.

If it is liquid in a syringe like calpol or piriton you’ll have to hold him or get someone else to do it so he can’t move his hands/push you away Once it’s in his mouth point it into the cheek and push the liquid in in short bursts I do three separate ones with a few seconds between to allow him to swallow and breathe The spitting out is when you put it in the front of the mouth or don’t give time to breathe/swallow Mine got used to it eventually Good luck x

If it’s eyes or nose, I usually sit between their legs and put my legs over their spread arms pinning them down. If it’s mouth, I pin them from sitting on the sofa and they are on the floor. Squirt the syringe into the side of cheek so they don’t choke then follow in with their fav drink.

Treat incentive for after he takes it? Not ideal but if it's a short term med it might be worth it?

@Tamsine tried it xx

A mom suggested mixing liquid medication in a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I haven't tried that myself but I would ask the pharmacist/dr if it's okay to do that with his specific medication.
