When is everyone planning to transfer from bassinet to crib/nursery?

My little girl is almost outgrowing her bassinet but she’s only 3 months. Anyone have advice for when to move her? I don’t think I’m waiting the full 6 months.

They say to transition when they start rolling over. Also some bassinets list a weight max so it is whichever comes first. I am wondering transition to what - her crib in her nursery or buying a mini crib to still have her in my bedroom.

I am planning on transferring her at 6 months

I moved at 10 weeks with both of my kids and it was the best decision for us. Everyone slept so much better - but ultimately whatever you’re comfortable with

@Ali my baby naps in her crib and falls asleep at night there until we transfer her to the bassinet (her nursery is next to the living room). So I know she’d sleep fine if we moved her to crib but right now it’s easy for us to roll over and pop her binky in. How did you handle this or do you keep getting out of bed or does she do okay without?

@Katelyn so my daughter doesn’t take one at night anymore, she sort of self soothes by munching on her hand a bit but she was never huge on needing it. I’ll offer during naps if she’s extra fussy or has the hiccups. But I get it - it’s soo much easier if they’re right there to pop it back in

Mine is also 3 months and already outgrew her bassinet and began to roll over, so it was time. We fully transitioned last week and she has done great!! Before the transition, we spent a lot of time in her room so she got familiar with it. I would also put her in her crib for a few minutes to get her used to it.

My toddler is still using the crib mattress and I didn’t want to buy a second so when her twin bed comes next week we’re switching to crib. She won’t move out of our room until probably 2

The AAP does recommend they room in with you for the first 6-12 months to reduce the risk of SIDS but do whatever you are comfortable with. Our boy is outgrowing his as well so we moved his crib into our bedroom and this week he started taking naps in it. We are going to transition to crib at night this weekend.

We moved our almost 4 month old daughter to her nursery this week and she’s been doing great. We knew it was time when we were so scared of waking her up by even rolling over in bed and she would keep us up all night with her active sleep cooing. Plus she moves so much in her bassinet that she needed more room to wiggle during the night. She’s been sleeping through the night consistently for a while and we use the owlet sock so I felt comfortable making the switch.

@Katelyn im in the exact same position! Naps in crib in nursery, but at night bassinet so I can pop in pacifier when she stirs.

For my first, we did naps in the crib until he was used to it. Then transitioned at night at 4 months (when he started rolling over)

My girls will be sharing a room so I want my 3 month old to sleep fully through the night before we move her into the nursery

We transitioned him at 3mo mostly by accident. We just realized he slept so much better in the crib and we did too. It’s been working great. I fully expected to have him in the bassinet until he outgrew it, and then switch to a pack n play in our room. But he’s been fully independent in his own room for almost a month now.

We transitioned our baby from his bassinet st like a month and a half because he got too long for it. He's in a pack n play in our room now until he turns 6 months old.
