So your child gets funded nursery/childminder hours from the school term after they turn 3. My son was born in June and his funded hours kicked in from August after his 3rd birthday. My son was already in nursery before then so they gave us the funding form to fill out and we didn't have to worry about it. I'm not sure how you apply for it if you're just starting your child out though, maybe check your local council website for a funding form. I'm Stirling council and I know when filling out the forms you have to choose 3 settings you'd be happy for your child to attend and rank them in order of preference, then you hand the completed form into your first choice setting. If you have a setting in mind it might even be worth phoning them directly and seeing if they have a place and can point you in the right direction as I'm not sure how it works for every council area. I hope that makes sense and helps 🙈
