Is it just me?

I've been on here for about a good year or so now, and everytime I match with someone either two scenarios follow: 1) we have great conversation and even meet up for just once and then never again. 2) we have okay conversation then never get a reply back ever again. Has anyone had successful friendships come about on here? Or is it just me. Maybe it has to do with geographical aspects as well, because some of the nicest people who I get along with well unfortunately reside on the opposite end of the country lol *sad violin music from the world's tiniest violin* 🎻🎶

I ran into a similar issue of a dying out convo on here lol. But I did find people on here and we have built successful friendships. They are only 3 moms but hey quality over quantity 🙂 Stay hopeful, you’ll find your mom friends!

Definitely not just you! I'd say about 90% of the people I have conversations with just stop replying, and of the 6 or 7 I've managed to arrange a meet up with, only one of them was someone I actually ended up befriending.

I found this alot and have started taking convos to Facebook. Those have bloomed into regular catch ups and friendships.

I've had a few I still see often but it is effort on both ends once people start going back to work or having more kids

Same! I get a lot of mums messaging me, but a lot can't keep a conversation going I get bored and stop messaging🤣

Why do you not meet up a second time? Do you not initiate?

@Ella sometimes they're not my kinda people, if the interaction is hard work, I don't tend to initiate. (I've met people whose parenting style/values are far different to mine and I don't carry that further because they're not the influence I want for my son. I've also had a lady who was just SUPER negative and whiny, and I don't have space in my life to constantly be dragged down. And the same also happens in reverse, I will initiate second catch ups but they don't want too. Making genuine connections is a bit of a dance, made more complicated by being mums who are looking for safe, positive influences in their kids life. In short, keep trying, your people are out there, but they're not everyone.
