I had a ultrasound last week, they said if an internal examination was needed it didn’t matter if I was on my period or not xx

Yes, definitely! The internal exam by ultrasound is probably the most important part. They have to be able to "see" as best they can. I somehow was almost always schedule for exams when I was on my period (I had a ton of ultrasounds done) 🙃 but it was never weird. I just let the tech know and she would lay down an absorbant sheet to go under my bottom.

The examination is important. It won’t phase anyone with you being on your period, just give them a heads up. It’s worth noting that Endo is rarely seen on ultrasounds. The only definitive way to diagnose to Endo is via a laparoscopic procedure. Please don’t let them fob you off if it’s not seen via ultrasound.

Thanks ladies I did have an examination it was ok and have been told next step will be an ultrasound! But I’m worried it won’t pick up my bowel endo and that’s where I get my most severe symptoms

The ultrasound is unlikely to pick up any endo. But they use it to help rule out other things that could be causing the pain.
