Can you add to the same syringe of colostrum?

If I start a syringe tonight, can I keep it in the fridge and add more to it tomorrow? I'm really struggling with how much I'm getting, usually only around 0.1ml per day and feel like I'm just wasting syringes! I'm 37+4

My midwife said that yes you can do this, however when I tried it I found the colostrum had gone very thick and made it awkward to syringe up the freshly expressed stuff, so personally found it easier to just use a new syringe each time

Oh really? Do you know how long I can add to it before freezing by any chance?

You can store it for up to 5 days in the fridge, so if you are going to mix multiple days, I’d keep it for 4 days from your earliest expression before you freeze it and then use it the day you defrost to be on the safe side

I would collect in a small cup and then syringe from that as it gets quite thick and hard to move in the syringe

The guidance I’ve had from my midwife is to store in the fridge between collections (4°). It can be added to for up to 48 hours, then freeze and start a new one after 48 hours.

Thank you all! This is super helpful!! No more wasting syringes on 0.1ml 😂🤞🏼
