Rights?

I'm not really a "I have my rights" type of person, I usually let things go. But prior to me going on maternity leave i was advised about a promotion that my boss said I can apply for. There was me and my friend both up for the promotion. Since being on maternity leave, they have just given my friend the promotion, which I'm happy she got but I am a bit pissed off that I wasn't given the opportunity to be promoted as I could actually really do with the payrise as its nearly a 25% increase! Is this some kind of maternity discrimination or something?! Or is it just a suck it up and life's a bitch moments?

I know so many people who get promoted whilst on maternity leave. What makes you think you didn’t get it down to discrimination? Do you think you out performed your friend in the interview?

If you weren’t given the opportunity to apply and it was just given to your friend then I would say that isn’t fair. I got an e-Mail with my job advertised the other day for more money too bit awkward 😂 I haven’t handed my notice in either.

@Sibs I wasn't advised that the job role was available to apply for or interview for Oh thats so bad!

@Chloe I wasn't advised of anything u til my friend at work said she had the job! It was just a conversation before I left for maternity leave that they're thinking of creating that job role and they'd of course let me know, and I could apply and be interviewed but nothing came of it until my friend told me she'd been given the job
