She will not bend!

My daughter has just turned 6m on the 2nd. We wanted to start blw, but the main criteria being that they need to sit unassisted, we can't. I have started purées in the meantime and she loves it most of the time. I wanna get her used to eating, even if it's not real chunks of food for now. But. When I try to make her sit she gets really stiff at the hips, just slides across the floor, swings her head towards me, etc. She will just not bend. She's gotten really good at tummy time, does not complain at all, can stay for extended periods of time. She reaches objects, follows things with her eyes, turns (sometimes) from front to back and the other way. But man, I can't get her to sit. And I know it's still early but I need her to start eating. She will be in daycare at the end of august, and she does not take bottles. I'm at a loss here. I'm doing exercises EVERY DAY, there IS progress but she's still so far from sitting and turning easily by habit. What do I do with this?

Sounds like you’re doing everything you can to support her, it will come she just needs time. Nursery will accommodate and support her needs xx

@Amy thank you! I think I just need reassurance. We don't have a doctor so I can't book an apt, I am seeing a nurse next week though, and we meet daycare tomorrow and I know they are used to all sorts of stuff but I am not and that's where I get my anxiety from. Dad is not worried at all.!

@Becky yeah I can second that! Our son is 2 and daycare has changed him 😅 he was just a lot older than her when he started!

Just putting it out there.. even if she does start solids by end of August.. they still need BM or formula as their main nutrition until at least 12mos..

Hi jade! We worked with a PT with both... this time, just to make sure our preemie is on track. Ours comes to our house, but an assessment might be worth it? Also, have you tried the upseat?

@Sarah I know, our son didn't *really* eat with an appetite until he was like 18 months. She gets plenty 🙂

@Heather she eats in a high chair, it's just that we can't start blw if she does not sit by herself. The high chair works, but we need to wait for blw!
