Negative pregnancy test.

Hi, I recently had a miscarriage (4 weeks ago) how long did it take everyone to get a completely negative pregnancy test? I’m still having faint positives.

Unfortunately we are all different, My HCG went within a week via blood testing 😕 I hope everything adjusts soon for you, sending love x ❤️

It can vary so much. The longest mine has taken was 5 and a half weeks.

All depends how late your miscarriage was . If it was later on your hcg would be very high and it takes time to go down . I had one at 6 weeks and it took 6 weeks to be completely negative . After my miscarriage at 17 weeks and it took way longer to go down

Thank you all, I’m so sorry you’ve all gone through this too - it’s truly heartbreaking. I was 9 weeks, so I guess it will just take time to go down, it’s reassuring to know that It can be normal for it to take a bit longer.

It took me 5-6 weeks with each of my miscarriages to test negative

Everyone is different. I miscarried in 27th of June at 8 almost 9 weeks and yesterday my HCG was 9 so it’s most gone but it will take a few more days till a negative result.

My GP told me that if I'm still positive after 4 weeks, go see him to rule out no tissue is left. X

@Deb yes this is what I’m worried about, but it does seem that 3/4 weeks isn’t long enough going by the other comments. Hope your doing ok xx

Mine was 6 weeks, I was having weekly blood tests which showed it was going down just so slowly! I had an MMC confirmed on 21st June and just started my first period 2 days ago. I read so many things about people being negative the week after miscarriage and thought something was wrong with me taking so long, but the more I read the more I realised it’s normal ❤️

@Grace aw I’m so sorry! It’s so difficult isn’t it. I’m at a point where I just want it over with so I can move on, it’s just heart breaking waiting to see that negative test. Hope you’re doing ok.

@Grace two of my 3 losses were missed miscarriages as well. I think they take longer because technically your body is still producing HCG after baby is gone even though it isn’t as high as it should be. I had to have multiple blood tests as well and I thought the same thing, why can’t my levels go back
