Hello! I’m a dental therapist but also a first time mum so i’d like to think i’m well experienced on this 🤣 We started by just letting him hold the toothbrush, then watching me brush my teeth, he helps me brush mine, then i try brush his.. sometimes he is great, sometimes he’s straight up refusing. When it’s difficult and he’s crying, it’s actually better to get in and brush their teeth. They will likely calm down as soon as you are done so they aren’t going to be ‘traumatised’ by it. I place my wee boy on my knee and put him basically upside down sometimes just to get in. They need brushed so i do whatever i can to get it done 😭🤣
