I’d say pretty likely to fail my friend fell pregnant using this method
Highly likely to fail imo! I've gotten pregnant 3 x Twice using this method And once the condom failed
What about a non hormonal birth control?
IUD copper made me bleed a lot...I am tracking but I'm still stressed about it
Used this way for 7 years then one day I fell pregnant
The nuvaring might be an option. It's a silicone ring you insert in you. It's got a very small amount of hormone in it because its localised to the area many people don't get the side affects that other hormonal contraceptives have
If you’re not completely turned off of IUDs, I’ve done Skyla and Kyleena in the past (the smaller IUDs) and had no issues. Do whatever works best for you!
I recommend Natural Cycles app for tracking, but you also have to measure your temperature every morning. It was very very reliable for us as contraception, and also for planning to have a baby. Got pregnant on first attempt while tracking my ovulation too.
Best friend ended up pregnant with 2 under 2 using that method. Lol
@Helen I used nuva for years. Loved it.
I also recommend natural cycles I’m in the same situation as you I’ll be using natural cycles plus pull out, completely avoiding red days…
@Leila I had a copper one and I used the mini pill(I ended up constantly vomiting for 2 weeks straight and was hospitalized). Did you use oral contraceptives before?
Worked for 20 years
Honestly? You're husband has to be super aware of his ejaculation for pull out method to even work.

There's something called temp drop. I'm considering using investing in that when we want to get pregnant.... It's a wearable device that tracks your basal body temperature . Overnight. No matter how many times you wake up.
It can probably also help you to not get pregnant, too.
Because it's tracking bbt. So it should help with knowing ovulation
Have you tried the arm implant? I wouldn't recommend the pull out method. There are several different kinds of pill alone and multiple other forms of birth control. I'm VERY alarmed about the fact that you say your husband "skips on them" in regards to condoms. If this is a decision you have made and you have tried other forms of contraception and have wound up in hospital, on top of the fact that you had a traumatic experience, the fact that he can't wrap it up is a huge red flag.
Everybody is different and I think your partner definitely needs to be aware of when he needs to pull out but it’s worked for us for almost 10 years. We have 2 children that were planned but haven’t used any other form of bc for the rest of the time. I do track my cycle so I know somewhat when I might be ovulating but it hasn’t changed our course of prevention. If I was adamant about never wanting another child, I might consider an alternative bc you never know but my husband would get a vasectomy verses me going on birth control.
I also got pregnant using this method definitely wasn’t tracking either tho
I did and I’m terrible with oral medications (and vitamins). I don’t remember to take them regularly unless my husband reminds me. That’s why I switched to IUDs and then NFP.
Pull out Didn’t work, I’ve got a 17 month old daughter haha
Likely to fail unless you’re also tracking your cycle / ovulation. And even that isn’t foolproof. I’m catholic and we do natural family planning so it’s doable but way more work than other forms of contraception. Ever considered an IUD?
