Lactation help

For the mom’s that had a hard time producing BM, what did you do to get your supply up? I’ve tried milky mama brownies, and I just ordered supplements from legendairy in hopes those will work. I pump every 2-3 hours like I’m supposed to but nothing seems to be working for me.

Hey! So there's no evidence that supplements or foods increase supply, despite marketing claims. The best way is to feed totally responsively - the milk that is removed will be replaced, and that will increase your supply. You can also pump for 10 mins each side after a feed if you like, but there is a risk that will lead to oversupply issues. What makes you think you're not producing enough? If baby is gaining weight well, your latch is good, they're not falling asleep at the breast at every feed and seem alert when awake, and doing plenty of wet nappies, your supply is fine ❤️ pumping is not a good indicator of supply as a pump will never be as effective at removing milk as your baby.

I am only pumping not breast feeding but I have started to see if she will latch on every once in a while, I just never wanted to rely on breast feeding so with pumping, I haven’t been getting that much.

Oh I see, sorry I misunderstood! Can I ask why you didn't want to breastfeed? Obviously totally your choice, but if you need support to feel more comfortable with it (if you want to but were just worried about it not working well, or other concerns) then that support is definitely out there 😊

I didn’t want to have to rely on it or want my daughter to only breast fed and not take a bottle

I love to listen to a podcast called milk minute on Spotify they have great information and are licensed!!
