Is it possible to get a positive before implantation?

I'm trying to determine how far along I am. I got my first positive last week and I was having some mild cramping this morning. And Google says it's unlikely to get a positive before implantation. So I'm thinking I might be six or 7 weeks. I'm hoping to get a scan next week when I go for confirmation

Your body doesn’t start producing hcg until implantation so I don’t know how you’d get a positive before.

@Gaby okay thanks. I had a miscarriage last month and never got my period

Like Gaby stated, no, it's not possible. After the egg implants is when your body starts producing HCG.. there are many dating calculators online if you know the date of your last period, and if your cycles are regular. If you know when you ovulated, even better. Otherwise just contact your OB? only way to know for certain is with an US

@Allison Monique when did you stop bleeding from your MC?

@Michelle I think it had to be on July 28th because we started trying again two days later

@Allison Monique that was only 3 weeks ago. So you couldn't be more than 5 weeks

I got my positive and then implantation bleeding a few days later, I was told its normal to have the implantation bleed around the date your period is due

Cramping can also come from your uterus expanding to prepare for the baby not just implantation.

Implantation happens 6-10 days after conception, which is when the body starts producing hcg that is detected on a test.

@Emma That is not correct.

@Emma If you got a positive, that means you already implanted a couple days before that. If you're bleeding after a positive please let your doctor know if you haven't already.

@Becca it was only light pink on one wipe and this was last year

@Allison Monique ahhhh so sorry for your loss 😔
