Contacting midwives

Anyone else struggle to actually speak to their midwife? Rang the midwife office at rake lane hospital 42 times this week (not even exaggerating!) and no answer. Unable to leave a message either as it cuts off. Not sure what else I can do? I rang the admin reception who gave me my midwife’s direct mobile number - no answer to my calls or text either. I desperately need my matb1 form asap. Is there any other ways of getting it?!

Yeah I find it really bad I rang and left a message weeks ago for her at the gp surgery and no response whatsoever. How many weeks are you? I got given my form at the 28 week appointment

@Emily ah I could try that! I’m only 21 weeks but I’m taking early mat leave in 4 weeks due to illness but my work won’t approve it without the form

Ah right I would ring the gp and book a midwife appointment so she can’t ignore you. I’m not sure if they are allowed to give you it until 24 weeks though but worth double checking

I’m sure that if your gp does e consult, you can request it from there xx

I had the same problem last year around this time. Kept calling my GP to get put into touch with my midwife - turns out she was on maternity leave which the GP practice didn't know about...

@Jo 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️ I ended up getting my husband to ring and they sent it out to me no problem 🤔😐
