Cooking time

I feel like cooking takes up way too much of my time. Does it feel the same for you? Any tips on having it go faster? I feel like between the baby and cooking I can barely get anything else done.

I’m having the same dilemma . Feeling like meal prepping a few things for throughout the well

Week*

I always cook to have leftovers so I can cook once to eat 2 or 3 times. I feel like it's just as easy to cook a double or triple batch. Also frozen vegetables help a ton on prep time. Costco has actually had the best selection of frozen vegetables that don't feel like frozen vegetables

@Jennifer ya I’ve been trying to make bigger portions but still somehow it’s not enough to do too many meals usually, but it definitely helps. I do a lot of fresh salads and I feel like that takes up too much time.

I specifically search for 20 - or 30-minute meals.

The instant pot and microwave! Frozen veggie cook very well and quick in the microwave. Meats cook quick in the instant pot.

@Anna ya I need one of those!

I know what you mean. Finding nutritionous meals that are quick to make is hard. I love some quick meals like a meat and some veg, for when you dont want to spend a lot of time on your meal. And definitely, sometimes making a huuuge pot of sauce and freezing it!

@Marte yes! It’s great to have frozen broth and sauce. What kinds of sauce do you freeze?

@Valeria Anything really, Sometimes some noodlesoup, I make a lot of bolognese as you can make loads of things with it! Lasagna, pasta, chili, and more. Soup, also great, just throw in a bunch of vegetables, eat some bread with it and boom, nutritionous meal! There are a lot of options, I would suggest when you have energy to make a few things.

Meal planning is huge for me- we plan meals and shop for the week. It seems most of my time went to figuring out what to cook. Every week I make a big batch of some type of soup or stew to have in the fridge for lunches or dinners in an emergency. We also make our big meal for lunch which is helpful because I’m not cooking a huge meal in the evening when usually the kids require more attention. We also don’t typically over complicate meals. We usually just eat a protein and a vegetable- sometimes with rice or pasta. Simple and quick!
