You don't need to keep testing (a lot of us do because it's addictive and reassuring), you can tell your partner (that's an excellent birthday present đ) and yes, you should either call a GP or your local maternity services (often, there's an online form). Congratulations xx
@Paulina thanks so much
GP have nothing to do with pregnancyâs so youâll have to get in touch with your community midwives department and they will either send you a form to fill out or if they do it on an app they will direct you to an online form for you to fill out. And yeah I wouldnât bother testing anymore. Often we do it for the reassurance but then if you test at different times through the day your line might be lighter or if you get the hook effect where your line is lighter it often causes panic and instantly starts to create awful thoughts. But on the other hand, congratulationsâșïžx
@Julia it may depend on areas because here my midwife appointment was at the doctors which you book by calling the GP. It is a huge surgery though and in a city so Iâm not sure if that makes a difference. xx
@Jamie I live in a small town and our GP has absolutely nothing to do with pregnancies itâs all done by the hospital x
I live in a big city and the GP doesn't have anything to do with pregnancy either but if you don't know how to contact maternity services (not always straightforward), GP is the best first port of call because they will signpost you x
The first time I found out I called my doctor as had no idea what I was doing, my doctor gave me the information I needed on who to contact and how.
Thanks everyone it my first time and I'm excited but also really nervous not sure if it's sank in yet to be honest
Congratulations!
