Has anyone introduced a dummy to a breastfed baby straight away?

I know the reccommendation is to wait a little while to avoid nipple confusion. Has anyone introduced one earlier? Would love to hear your experiences

I did, never had any issues. My son was breastfed till 18 months!

Yep within the first week, never caused us any issues. Also introduced a bottle once a day from about same time. My son just turned one and still breastfeeding like a champ x

I gave my breastfed baby one after 3 days and he still latched no problem

Yep, caused no issues and saved our sanity

I did. Caused me major issues with supply and latch and weight gain. Refused to use it with second baby.

We did in the hospital, but it was causing issues with our latch that wasn’t there before. Now he refuses a pacifier and just likes to play with them when he’s teething. We EBF & he chooses to pacify on me instead. Which, also has its obstacles.

I didn’t and honestly I think if you want to introduce dummies you should introduce them straight away. For a while my son refused to take dummies because I introduced one at 4 weeks instead of straight away. Now he takes one but only if he’s hungry or really tired. My friend introduced a dummy to her breastfed baby at 3 days postpartum and she never had issues though.
