Career

I don't know if it's being pregnant or what it is but I have be assessing what I really want to do as a career. And know the job I'm in now won't be my forever job as I want more for myself and soon to be family. Some would say I'm living the dream with working from home but I'm starting to lose myself and getting quite bored, finance just isn't what im interested in any more. Has anyone else experienced this? I have a strong passion for working with animals, but not sure where to start really and was wondering if anyone else is in this field? Or just caring for people in general. I have a teaching background but left due to it feeling an impossible task daily and then just left taking the first opportunity possible to escape (probably should have put more thought into it when leaving but here we are🙈🙃)

I know what you mean. I've started to go back to college. I left school with basically useless grades so I've gone and got my GCSE English this year. I started from scratch with my maths. I was about to enrol onto my GCSE maths and Biology for the new year but having to put it on hold and enrol for the next year. It's never too late. I'm 28 and only decided the last couple of years I wanted to go into nursing and knew it would be a long process starting from the bottom up but I know it'll be worth the wait and the job I'm in is 1000% not the job for me but it'll do as it brings money home

If you want to care for people then have you thought about looking at jobs in adult social care? There are so many different kind of job roles, you could start by looking at your local council. I’m an adult social worker and there are a few paid pathways to get into it, apprenticeships, fast track schemes, you don’t have to start from the bottom if you’re looking for a completely different career. P.s my dream job is working with animals too but haven’t a clue how to get into it 😆🤦🏻‍♀️

There are jobs out there just hard to find! My job is farm school leader, so we get inner city kids to come and stay for 5 days and learn all about farming. I absolutely love it but the thing with working with animals is the really early starts so I’m not sure how to go back with having to take little one to nursery. There was also the issue with zoonotic diseases and just general danger when working with farm animals when pregnant but it is lovely! And I guess the big downside is most animal jobs are low pay and long hours but it’s very rewarding.
