Townhouses for rent long term?

Anyone know if most townhouses for rent are available for long term? I’m nowhere near able to purchase a home so I guess renting a townhouse is the best option now since my first kid will be going to school next year. Anyone have any recommendations or on the same boat? I’m just worried about ever getting kicked out bc the landlord wants to move back in or the rent get raised super high. Or what’s the difference between renting and leasing?

We are in the same boat, we been renting our current home for almost a year now. We moved here when I was pregnant but we been renting before. Legally you need at least a one year lease, so they can't kick you out and even if they want to move back in or rent higher legally they can't kick you out only the tenant board can. You can msg me if you ever want to talk about this. I'm more than happy to help you and guide you. I'm no expert but I have learned a lot while renting
