High risk of developing preeclampsia

Guys, I’m so worried! I just had my 20 Week scan and have been told that I have a 1 in 5 chance of developing preeclampsia which puts me at high risk. It’s one of the worst conditions you can have while pregnant as it could mean serious health concerns for baby and mum! Any advice to calm down my nerves, or past experiences with it 😭

Has your doctor prescribed low dose aspirin?

No, as I’m 20 weeks and they suggest to begin asprin at 12. They said that starting it now can cause other complications

i had pre-eclampsia with my son, making this current pregnancy high risk. id recommend getting yourself a blood pressure machine and checking it regularly. any signs of reoccurring headaches, floaty bits/disturbances in vision and/or upper stomach pain on the right hand side seek medical attention🩷 my experience wasn’t the best but i’m hoping to be on it this time so i’m just looking out for the signs. message me if you have any questions!

I'm at a slightly elevated risk of preeclampsia owing to low PAPP-A. I monitor my BP twice daily. That way, if it starts to increase, I can get to the hospital before any bad symptoms develop. I would recommend monitoring BP twice per day because you can be ahead of the curve in case BP does start to spike. xx

I’ve had this at my 20 eeek scan also, have more scans now at 28 and 32 weeks. The way I see it is, we haven’t got it YET (touch wood we don’t) and at least they are keeping an eye on us and it’s not going unnoticed if we do develop it..
