Elective C-section

Due my C-section on Tuesday and have been given all information through my badger maternity notes. They have said to fast from 6am and to be at the ward for 11am. To take meds and drink for 10:30, When do they normally take you down once this is done? Also says birthing partners to go home as no facilities, but when I had my emergency C-section he stated all night?

It depends how many of you are booked in. I had mine 4 days ago and they had 3 booked in. I was last and went down at around 12.30pm in the afternoon x

It sounds to me like you are on an afternoon list. It may be your partner was allowed to stay if you were kept on delivery suit? (rather than moved back to the ward) or their policy has changed and literature is out of date!

Dad should always be allowed to be present at your elective c section, as long as you don't have general anaesthetics. Call your midwife/hospital and ask.

@Gabi it’s more over night, can they stay overnight in the hospital?

@Lucy Depends on hospital policy. But most allow 1 partner even on a labour ward. Especially when it is the child's parent.
