@Natalie so by unpaid section , you mean the 9-12 month period right ? Also not sure if you know but can you take it from the first paid section , the 6 months paid so that my husband is paid full salary? Thank you for responding
I do. I don't think so because the fully paid salary is from your work whereas SMP is from the government.
Worth finding out what his works policy is as they may enhance shared parental leave so that he gets full pay. You can’t pass off your full pay that’s enhanced company pay. You pass on your SMP or your unpaid period x

You can specify whether it's just leave or pay too. We took 3 weeks from the unpaid section that he used immediately after the 2 weeks paternity.
