Flu vaccination

Has anyone’s May 22’ baby had their flu vaccination yet? The nursery gave us a letter to say that the nurses are coming to the nursery to administer it. I need to state in the form if I want to be there or not. I know this sounds awful but I am so super busy in work just now due to the time of year and have a 3 week holiday coming up so stressing about taking extra time off during the lead up to this. Realistically due to the commute to work and time they plan on giving it I would need to take a half day. Has anyone’s toddler had this yet and can tell me how they were with the nasal spray? Did it really upset them or were they ok? Just not sure what is best to do. My plan is to go because I don’t want him being upset but just wanted to check in first incase it’s simple and nothing to worry about? Thanks xx

I can’t answer for how my 2 year old will be as she’s not had hers yet but my brother and sister have them every year, they were completely fine when they had it. My daughter’s having hers done at the GP surgery soon so I can always message you how she gets on if that helps you xx

My 3yr old had it last year and was absolutely fine with the nasal spray. My GP surgery are doing a special Saturday when my 2 and 3 Yr olds are going in a few weeks, maybe you could check with the GP and see if there's an alternative solution?

@Chelsea I personally would prefer having it done at the doctors as mine screamed and you have to hold their heads back and arms down. My girl screamed her head off which was a bit daunting until we got out of the room and she was completely fine and splashing in puddles on the way home. They won’t get a fever or anything as it’s not going into their bloodstream. The only side affects they can get is a slight headache a bit sniffly and go off their food. Other than that they shouldn’t get poorly or anything. Xx
