Hey, we saw the allergy clinic just before my daughter turned 6 months, they basically went through weaning with us and how to adapt things to suit her allergy, they also went through the milk ladder with us and how to introduce milk back into her diet x

@Georgia okay thanks, my thing is I’m pretty sure they’re going to do a scratch test

We’re still waiting for an appointment for it as she’s got about 7 allergies x

@Jayde my daughter didn’t have one as the milk affected her stomach rather then a rash so they can’t actually for a scratch test for it, have they said they’re going to do one? X

We went to the allergy clinic met with an allergy specialist and a dietician and we did the skin prick test and an action plan for the different ladders we were to do

@Georgia no in so many words but the letter talks about a scratch test and the allergy brings him out in his and raspy breathing x

@Molly how was it? Can I message you? X

@Jayde yes of course you can x

My little boy had a skin prick test not long back as he has a few allergies, I was worried too but my boy was fine! The doctor was really reassuring, settled my nerves and explained things clearly, it was nice and quick putting the allergens on and they wrapped his arms up to avoid him scratching, he played for 20 mins and then they checked the results. They couldn’t say for sure there and then because the results need to be assessed by his consultant with him being 15 months but the whole process was smooth and my boy never even flinched! Hope your little one gets on ok!x

@Nicola my little one is 7 months will be 8 and half on his appointment. Did it specify in the letter it was a ski. Prick test or did they just say when you got there? X

@Jayde no the letter said it specifically and it came with a little booklet about skin prick testing so I could read that before hand which was helpful x

@Nicola okay I think I’ll ring tomorrow just to be sure thank you x

It all depends if it’s an immediate reaction so my daughter had loose stools and stomach pain with dairy so advised to start milk ladder (introducing new foods) But with egg she immediately projectile vomited so got to go to allergy clinic where they will most likely advise no egg unless in hospital setting My eldest daughter had dairy allergy and couldn’t tolerate any dairy so had to go to hospital every few months to try introducing dairy Sorry lost post lol

@Steph Awh this is good to hear (as in good advice) my first was only intolerant so could do the milk ladder, but this time it’s much worse he came out in full body hives, projectile vomiting, constipation, colic, unsettled. I did ring and they said it will likely be a scratch test due to the urgency of the appointment, the length and the notes, do hopefully won’t be all too bad. It’s good to know they may attempt milk ladder periodically through the hospital though so thank you for your comment
