There are studies saying babies and young children brought up in households with animals are less likely to have allergies to animals who malt
Personally I believe allergies are something you develop as you get older. The only allergy I've had since a kid is to evergreens. Since 30 weeks pregnant I developed an allergy to kiwi. I wouldn't worry too much. My mum wasn't around pets during her pregnancy with me and I ended up growing up with a collie and 2 cats with no allergy to either
Have you heard of the food that's available to feed cats to help with human allergies towards them? https://www.purina.co.uk/brands/pro-plan/cat/liveclear There might be others available but effectively feeding cats eggs from hens exposed to cats helps lower the allergens (that's what I understood). If you're worried later on that allergies might start showing, it might be worth giving this a go!
I have 2 cats. My little boys now 5 months old and is absolutely fine with no signs of allergies whatsoever x
Thanks everyone thats made me feel more at ease! 😄
There is always a chance but I heard you being around cats when pregnant reduces the risk actually. I have 3 cats and that was my worry too, thankfully no allergy so far.
