I’m 41 weeks right now and I don’t hit 42 weeks until next Sunday so I have to wait to be induced as well because my doctor won’t induce “early” and my insurance won’t cover an elective induction…I’m so tired and miserable
I'm right there with you and Im not even 40 weeks yet (39+4). I'm trying midwives brew tonight so we'll see if that works. My OB already signed off on it.
@Saiah I have not tried that yet
yes! it is so hard to wait! i’m 40.2w. i’d love to hear these stories, too.
Here to say the balloon sounds scary but was honestly painless for me. It helps start dilation
I did the 10 minute workout on YouTube to induce labor for a few days and ended up giving birth at 38 weeks! I dilated so fast too
@Alyssa oh wow! sounds worth a try. what’s the link?
Just to update y'all, the midwives brew absolutely worked. Labor was so fast, I accidentally had a home birth this morning.
@Saiah omg congratulations! and wow, baby must have really come quick 😂 hope you’re all doing well. was this your first birth?
Thank you @Emily, it's my second birth and yes I think I was in active labor for only 2 hours! Totally caught us by surprise. 4 pushes and she was here
@Saiah congrats!! 2 questions….What is the tea? And second, when you have a home birth like that do you have to go to the hospital after? What did you do?
@Jordan it's a combination of Lemon verbana tea, mango or apricot nectar (I used mango juice), almond butter (I only had peanut butter so used that), and castor oil. There are YouTube videos with the recipe! We called 911 and got taken to the hospital in the ambulance afterwards

I had an induction at 41 weeks but I wish I waited until 42! It’s very likely you will go into labor before 42 weeks (statistically)! I lost my mind waiting too. But try and relax as best you can. Oxytocin flows when we are happy and relaxed. Do you have a large exercise ball? You could do some hip circles etc on there that can help prep for labor and relax your pelvic floor.
