Naps. Help!!

My 6 week old constantly refuses her first nap of the day. She now been up for three hours. I have tried rocking, swaddle, white noise, feeding. Nothing!! This is a common occurrence. Anyone else’s baby do this? I’m at my wits end. I don’t know how to get her down. I spend over an hour trying to get her to sleep. Nothing works then she’s tired and exhausted and grumpy. Help!

Yes ! Dont be alarmed ! My baby is like this as well. She’s now two months old but she was like this at 6 weeks too! I went to the emergency room to check on her cause I was worried but they said nothing was wrong she was completely healthy . Just hang in there and keep trying . She’s just sleep deprived! Keep trying your routines again and she will eventually sleep ! And for ages after being up for too long

And every two hours keep trying to give her bottle , but if she’s breast feeding , try it again till she falls asleep, and try holding her upright , her tummy on your chest and rock her to sleep.

Bubs was like this for a few weeks too. I would pop him into the carrier and go about doing house hold things. Within 15-20 mins he was asleep and I could transfer him to his bassinet.

My bub is like this too, she stayed awake 8 hours straight the other day 🙃

My little one fights sleep constantly through the day then it is really hard to settle her in the afternoon due to being overtired. She's been like it for 2 weeks, she's 8 weeks now and still does it

We contact nap. It's the only way I can get my little man to sleep during the day. Just means I get nothing done.

@Kimberley thank you! This is great!

@Tia omg. I feel for you. Three hours had me stressed enough!

@Corina it’s getting harder and harder to do this. She won’t sleep in a bright room anymore abd I have a toddler. Trying when I can though

Once we hit 6 weeks naps went pear shaped, for 2-3 days our little one fought us on naps, once we caught up on her sleep the couple days after that, now she only contact naps through the day, doesn’t want a bar of her bassinet through the day. We also have to be in the bedroom where it’s darker.

Time to bring out the baby wear 😊
