@Melissa Hi! I had a laparoscopy about 15 years ago after painful sex. That was my only symptom really so I was lucky that my doctor referred me, and they found endo when I had the surgery. Then when I had a fibroid removed last year, the surgeon told me I had some again. So I know I have it, even though the symptoms aren’t too bad.
Aw I'm sorry to hear you have endo but really good you got it diagnosed. I've concerns about endo but always been ignored by professions and only sent me for ultrasounds which i dont think it shows up anyways 🫣. We are just starting our ivf tests before we start our first cycle x
i had an MRI recently that confirmed endo. i recommend one
@Melissa it sounds so hard to get it diagnosed now, and ultrasounds are definitely not the best thing to show it! Good luck with your ivf! X
@beth oh brilliant! I think I’ll have to pay private but that’s not a problem if it will actually show something!
What country are you in? It is possible to see endo on mri but only a tiny number of radiologists are trained to spot it. I had one under UCLH in London on NHs and thr priory in Birmingham privately in the uk.they aren't 100% reliable though. Before my surgery the mri indicated endo in some places it actually was not like ovaries and it was much worse on pouch of Douglas (where you say yours is) than the mri indicated.
I had an mri 2 weeks ago and it’s showed my endometriosis is back with a vengeance after having laparoscopy few years back. I’d recommend having one xx
@Alex I’m in England, would be happy to travel so maybe I need to look for a specialist. I didn’t know it was called the pouch of Douglas! Learn something new every day!
@Georgia oh sorry to hear this, it’s such a horrible disease to keep coming back. Definitely going to have a look into getting one. I hope you’re not suffering too badly with your endo.
I have endo. I had it burned back in 2018 but this past year the pain has been worse than ever. I decided I was ready for a baby and we started early thinking it would take a bit because of how bad my endo pain has gotten. I had no issue getting pregnant surprisingly. Everyone’s endo is different however when I told people I was going to try for a baby they recommended if I had no luck to have the endo burned again and then try for the baby (apparently that’s helped a lot of women get pregnant).
Sorry I can't answer your questions but just wondered how you had endo diagnosised if your symptoms were not too severe. Thanks x
