Sleep training apps

Hi, We need sleep! Desperately! Has anyone recommendations of apps or books to help? All the apps seem so expensive so preferably a reasonably priced one that actually helps? We don’t want to cry to sleep. Thank you!

If you don’t want to do cry to sleep (totally agree!) the only things you can do is create a good nighttime routine, ensure they’re not having too much/little day sleep, avoid screens and bright lights 1/2 hrs before bed time etc. If they’re not developedly ready to sleep more, they won’t do it unfortunately. You can also night wean depending on the age, and it won’t help, unless they’re ready. 😩 The sleep training industry want you to believe babies can learn to self soothe, but the part of the brain responsible for regulating emotions starts to develop around 5/6yo and it’s not fully developed until 25yo! Some babies are naturally soothers (depending on their innate temperament), and can do it, but most of babies cannot and to be able to sleep more, they need to be able to link sleep cycles which is an ability that cannot be taught. Cry to sleep “works” because babies stops asking for help because they know no one is coming.

@Simona thank you so much for this. It helps to set my mind at ease! X

I would suggest your version of the ferber method for sleeping training. But or you could buy the taking cara babies sleep training pack. I have the ABC's of sleep from taking cara babies it has loads of information and suggestions solutions for all stages.
