Travelling

This will probably sound silly but can someone talk me through what I actually need to do and take with me when taking a 1 year old to Dublin. How do I travel with them? Do I need a car seat or anything for while I'm there getting taxis? What's a good light weight travel cot? What about the plane?

Car seat yes for safety. Are you staying in a hotel or with family? Plane, baby sits on your knee but it’s only a short flight so just take a few toys for him, a drink, few snacks etc. Then anything else, take what you would use daily, clothes, medicine, nappies etc xx

Might be stupid again but how do I travel with a car seat? Won't go in a suitcase. I'll be staying with family. So I won't have to pay for a seat for him?

No, under 2 I think they just share your seat. Check the airline but most airlines let you take 2 checked things for baby e.g. Carseat, pram, travel cot so you may have to choose. Sometimes you can hire a pram when you get there

You can also hire taxis with car seats if you request in advance

You’ll likely be flying easyJet or Ryanair. EasyJet you can take his nappy bag on board FOC. The car seat and pram have to go in the hold. Amazon sell car seat protector bags for flights. He doesn’t get his own luggage as such. Ryanair I think is similar to easyJet.
