I want to give birth in the birth center at my hospital but today have been told I'm not allowed because of my gestational diabetes diagnosis. The consultant says I don't fit the birth centre criteria, even though I'm managing my levels without medication and baby is measuring fine 😢

Hospital😊

Have to do the hospital. I have terrible hospital anxiety and wanted a birth center but I am considered high risk

Home birth for me pool arrived today starting to feel real x

Home birth 😊

Home! Birth isn't a medical emergency 💕

@Victoria hey lovely, if you still want to consider other options perhaps ask your health care professional for all of the benefits and risks of birthing at the birth centre. Just to make sure you're fully informed of your choices 💕

@Victoria hey lovely, I'll post a video tomorrow with some top tips for birthing in a hospital ❤️ also, this site is great for info - https://evidencebasedbirth.com/gestational-diabetes-and-the-glucola-test/ Xx

@Poppy (Pop That Mumma) I already have reached out to birth centers and talked with my perinatal specialist but birth centers have deemed me too high risk because of a bunch of serious preexisting conditions and a complicated medication regimen. I’m also a risk of having a medical event during delivery so even though it’s not my ideal we’re going to go the hospital route

Hospital. But I'm regretting kaiser 😭. My first pregnancy was there and had a traumatic birth. But I'll be going in there with a different mindset and know exactly how I want this to go.

I wish I was taught about birth more.

If I ever have another biological baby, not planning on it but things happen, I want to try and do a home birth. Had two birth center deliberier but it is connected to a hospital so a lot of the policies felt very "hospital" which weren't ideal. Still so blessed by my births!
