Nursery help.

Little one had settling in session on Tuesday. I collected him at 11.30 the room leader was convinced he had an accident and went to collect his wet clothes. Which hadn’t happened as he was still in the clothes I took him in and he’s spare clothes in his bag. She came back and said ohhh I must of confused you with another child. (I can forgive these they have nearly a whole room of new starters) she followed on by saying, “we haven’t taken him to the toilet today then.” This has massively worried me, if the basic’s like toileting aren’t being met what else is happening. He is due to return tomorrow for even longer (not a full day) but I don’t want him going backward potty training because they haven’t taken/asked him. Hes only just started saying he needs a wee at home, but this is very rare and needs reminding to go, which he will happily do. Do I mention it to them? Any advice welcome.

let them know the full routine with your little one, as he’s newly toilet trained say they need to prompt him to go and maybe bring up the idea of a toilet chart just so you have an idea of what’s going on. if they know the routine and that you want full transparency on what’s happening when he’s there they should accommodate xx

I work in a nursery, I wouldn’t worry, the room usually has loads of other staff members who will ask, plus when they see the other kids go they all want to go haha. If you concerned just tell them he needs reminding and encouraging to go. I’m sure they will. When he starts he could have a few accidents but this will be due to the transition of a new environment. But in my place we encourage them to go ask regular. If you feel like they didn’t do this tho I’d speak to a manager, if no different take him out. Goodluck!
