N&N Hospital Induction

I’m scheduled for an induction on Saturday at 40 + 5 due to gestational diabetes and I’m really nervous about it, has anyone got any positive induction stories they can share?

Had mine July 2023. My induction process was fine. Cannot fault the staff at all they were all so helpful and lovely. Made sure I was comfortable at all times! Try and walk lots, it was uncomfortable for me but getting that fresh air helped. My birth wasn’t overly positive but that wasn’t due to the staff. You’ll be fine, take lots of snacks and things to keep you occupied. I was there for 5 days overall.

I had an induction for reduced movements and the process was fine and the staff on cley were all lovely! I was there for 3 days before I could have my waters broken on delivery suit. I ended up having an emergency section but that was due to babies position and other complications I had. Take plenty of snacks, things to do and sleep whenever you can to build up some energy. Use the baths while you’re there as you don’t get them on the other wards. My only advice would be that if you’re having the hormone drip then really consider your pain relief options I had an epidural as I found the hormone drip brutal but that doesn’t mean others will have the same experience Good luck you’ll be fab xx

I had an induction at 39+6 for reduced movements almost exactly 1 year ago. It was ok the Cley ward was a lot better than the post-delivery. Take plenty of snacks, entertainment and food if you have a birthing partner as they don't get fed. Do ask for pain relief as soon as you need it I didn't get it in time and had to just use gas and air 🫠 I was in hospital 4 days the induction took 45 hours to work but I just remember it being rather uncomfortable Good luck and enjoy those early moments and toast xx

I was in for induction at 42 weeks . These things don’t always go to plan and my induction didn’t work and had a c section in the end . The staff were all so lovely . Try not to worry , I know it’s easier said than done . X

Hey! I had mine at 40+3 for GD too. Mine was so straightforward. Went in at 10pm (earliest a bed was available), pessary was in by midnight and by 2am I was in early labour. This continued through the day and by 11pm ish I was transferred to DS. I was 4cms at that point. Had a lovely warm bath on Cley. The room is lovely and cosy. I did lots of walking around and swaying through the day. Once on DS I had my waters broken and was also put on the hormone drip. This was at 8am following day. By 12 I was ready to push and my little girl was born 🥰🥰 I was on cley for just over 24 hrs (felt like forever but it wasn’t!). My pessary fell out after 14 hours and my body just continued with contractions. Hope this helps xx

Thank you all for sharing 💚💚
