On the NHS you only get scans at 12 weeks and 20 weeks, unless you’re high risk and require extra scans. Not sure where you’re from?
Oh thank god! 43 is super dangerous. If you’re in the uk you only get a 12 ans 20 week scan but your midwife appts will be booked and if they noticed reduced or exselorated growth they’ll book more scans as needed but that’s played by ear. If you want your partner at the midwife appts you can ask them to book all future ones for you so that he can book it in with work, that’s what I did but if you’re based in the uk you’re all done until the baby’s here! Xx
Yes, if you are high risk and from the UK. You would have more scans. I had a scan at 35 weeks due to my baby having reduced growth. Then I had her by emergency c-section the following day. But if you have no issues with your pregnancy there would be no more scans.
I only had one at 12w and another as I was in labour to make sure baby wasn’t breech. I didn’t want any more than that and I was low risk. You shouldn’t have anymore until you’re in labour. We didn’t check gender so chose not to do the 20w one
No more scans unless high risk or ur doctor wants to check ur fluid like mine did
@Jody I am high risk and never thought the scans I had could of been more then normal since it's my 1st
OP if your partner can’t be there for the next scan whenever that is, i would either 1. FaceTime the whole visit w him on the other line or 2. Voice record or record the whole visit so you can send it to him. If that’s your concern he won’t be there, he can still be there in spirit if you do those. I was on a FT call to my sister for my 12w scan since she wanted to come and couldn’t be there, I left her on the phone. If you record, you’ll also have that on your phone anytime in future u wanna watch back for memories.
I had 3 scans with my first two pregnancies. A dating scan at my first appointment, an anatomy scan around 20 weeks, and a growth scan around 34 weeks. This pregnancy I am having a growth scan at 28 weeks because they saw something in the 20 week scan that they want to keep an eye on. I am in the US.

@Kellie I typically send him a short message of what was talked about , I never thought of doing a voice message over the appointment I had my 1st scan at 13 weeks due to baby not sitting still for doppler 2nd scan at 17 weeks and he was there at 21 weeks he was there for just the scan then had to answer a phone call and it was important (what he said so idk about the phone call ) 3rd scan at 21 weeks what he came to 4th scan at 25 weeks he was there and the 5th scan was at 32 weeks to make sure baby was in the right position and sadly he couldn't make it due to work calling him in right as we was getting ready to leave for the appointment
@Katrina I've had 5 scans 1 was cuase he wasn't sitting still for doppler, and I'm also in the America
I had 8,12,20,28,30 and my next one is 36 weeks before my section at 37/38 weeks but that’s with a high risk pregnancy, usually in the uk it’s only 12 and 20 xx
@Kaitlin I'm having my next scan at 36 weeks also to check on little man since he was breached at 30 weeks and fixed him self by 32 weeks
I'm not sure about your location but if you are in England you wouldn't be having any more scans at 43 weeks. The doctors should be organising your delivery by now by going through a plan. I'm quite surprised they have allowed you to go all the way up to 43 weeks. Normally by 42 weeks you should of had your baby by now.
