C Section at Southmead

Possibly an odd question, but I'm 35 weeks and I've not had any kind of clear indication that my midwife has communicated my birth plan with the hospital and we didn't really explore my birth plan in detail in my last appointment (34 week appt). All I've received so far is a link to a video on Badger. We are opting for an elective C section due to complications during my last birth and my midwives are fully aware and supportive, but I've not really heard what to expect or if the hospital is already aware. Do I need to do anything myself or will the hospital get in contact closer to the time? Admittedly, this happened with my last pregnancy where I still hadn't had much of a chance to discuss my birth plan until I pushed for it around 38/39 weeks (I'd been somewhat dismissed asking to discuss it in the appointments before telling me "we go over that next time" several times over...). I'm not sure if that's just my midwife team, or if that's how it is everywhere.

Hey do you not have appointment at 36 weeks with a consultant? X

@Charlotte ooh so I've got a growth scan booked in with a consultant but not sure if that's specifically for the c section as that's been booked in since we registered the pregnancy (due to the size of my last baby). But maybe that's it! I've not had a great deal of info about it, I just assumed it was to check on their size.

Yes that will be it hun. They will talk to you and give you your opinions and the date of C-section xx

@Charlotte amazing, thank you for clarifying! That makes a lot of sense.

With my planned c section it was at the 36 week consultant appointment that it was confirmed and I signed all the paperwork for my c section and then I had a text at 38 weeks confirmation my c section with a date for the following week. I think it has to be signed off by the consultants as my midwife always said speak to them when I brought it up with them.

Mine was discussed at my 36 week appointment and I was booked in few days later for the following week for my elective section at Southmead back in March this year. Had her at 37+1 due to GD
