I don’t want to downplay it, but it’s really not a big deal IF OR WHEN they catch it. It is HIGHLY common to have it when you’re pregnant. I had it w/all my pregnancy and this is my 3rd. They put you antibiotics and call it a day. I can understand your concern and anxieties as a 1st time mom, but for some unknown reasons our bodies develop this bacteria. I hope all goes well with/your pregnancy which I’m confident it will. Just keep in mind you are not alone and it very common to have it, that is why this is a standard must have test along with gestational diabetes test, it’s just COMMON.😘
You only need to have the infusion for 2-4 hours (don’t remember how long) once the antibiotics are done you can either have them remove it (what I did) or you can have them put a male adapter in it so it’s not connected to anything and you can move around
I got tested and i’m GBS positive as well and i give birth in 3 weeks. i didn’t even know what this was until i got swabbed for it. Is it an STD or something? does my partner have it too? is my baby going to be okay?
@Yailyn noooo it’s not an std it even is typically asymptomatic it’s just a bacteria that resides in the vagina and or rectum, they have us on antibiotics in labor to prevent baby getting affected!
My midwife swears by a regimen of herbals and vitamins to boost the immune system. Would you like it?
You can move with an IV you just have to bring the poll with you, it sucks yes but if you birth at a hospital they'll put an IV in your regardless just in case there's any emergencies. The only time they ask you to be bedbound is when you get an epidural
