Princess Anne Hospital- 20 Week Scan - Gender

I’ve heard that some NHS Trusts don’t write down the gender for you at 20 week scan and say they can only verbally tell you. Just wondering what people’s recent experience is of this at Princess Anne? Don’t want to be disappointed on the day if they’re going to tell me they can’t write it down.

Oh not sure. They verbally told me. If you’re wanting a surprise maybe go for a private one before and get them to write it down xxx

They have a sign on the front scan desk saying they can’t write it down and put it in an envelope. I had a private scan beforehand and then they asked me if we knew/wanted to know. I asked to be told again for peace of mind and they told us verbally xx

They didn’t with me they asked if I wanted to know but if I didn’t want to know then I will have to wait until my little one was born to find out the gender thankfully had a private gender scan and the also asked them to double check the gender to make sure window to the womb was right x

They can tell you but they will not write it down. There is poster around about it. I just went and had a private scan before hand x

We wanted a surprise but asked if they could write it down in case we changed our mind and the lady said no, she did say she could ring someone and tell them (guess if it’s not written down there’s no physical proof if it was wrong) but we decided to leave it and not find out at all. Not sure if that was just something she was willing to do or if they all would x

They won’t write it down but will tell you if you ask and they get good views
