RVI induction

I am due to get induced at the RVI next week if I don’t go into labour. Was just wondering if anyone has any information about what to expect? I wondered how many other mums to be will be in the same bay?

I was induced with my little boy. When I went in I was put straight on the induction ward with 4 other mums. I was monitored for an hour then had an examination and they decided on the gel, this was put in (absolutely fine didn’t hurt at all), I went for a wander round the hospital had a Costa etc, came back had another gel put in 6 hours after the first one, checked again 6 hours later and they broke my waters and transferred me to the room. Was monitored for 2 hours then put on the drip and baby was born 7 hours later. Was kept in the room for 8 hours due to complications then went back to the ward and my husband was sent home x

Is this your first baby? I was induced with my first at the QE, 3 years ago. The hospital were amazing but the birth went abit tits up and I found out it's quite common with being induced! X

I was induced with my 1st baby. There is a bay with 4 beds and a bay with 2 beds. I was on the 2 bed. They check you and monitor baby and then they gave me a pessary and I decided to go for a walk as I was told walking can really help it work, I was told to expect cramps. They leave it for 4 hours and then check to see if you need a further pessary or waters breaking. 3.5 hours in I started having contractions. She checked me at 4 hours and said she could break my waters. She then broke my waters and 2 hours later he was born. It was very straight forward and fast for me but it’s common for the first pessary to not dilate you enough.

@Sophie 🧿 yes first baby so not sure what to expect xx

@Sara thank you!! Hopefully mine goes similarly to yours 😊
