TSH Levels

Hi! I had couple of miscarriages, last one was in March and its an MMC. My Obgyn had me tested for lupus antiphospholipid, rh factor, chromosomes test and they all came negative. They didn’t find anything that could cause a concern. However, my primary doctor had me tested for thyroid and vitamin D. My thyroid level (TSH) has come to 4.29 mL/Ul while the range is 0.4-4.5. Has anyone had tested for thyroid during pregnancy, if so what are the optimal levels suggested by your obgyn?

Optimal for TTC and pregnancy is below 2.5 here in Australia! Have they tested your full thyroid panel too?

@Chloe oh really! That’s a drastic difference! No they have not checked T3 and T4. In the report, i saw a note mentioned as T3 and T4 are not being tested as the TSH is in the normal range.

@Pooja I would really push for it. Also t3 and t4 are function and not antibodies there is a whole heap of other antibodies. I know alot about realised TSH I was medicated at 3.8 but mine has also been 21 and 17! I have an appointment with an endocrinologist and specialists so far think I have hypothyroidism we caught early. My function and antibodies are all fine. Hope you can get to the bottom of yours! A naturopath may also be able to help to switch up your diet to help it. But just google it, lots of info of optimal range and what you can do to help 😊

I would say get tested for Thyroid antibodies. Sometimes autoimmune thyroid disease can lead to a miscarriage. TSH alone is not enough.
