Childcare

Hi Everyone, I'm in a tricky situation my little girl is 20 months and we are very lucky with childcare my husbands mother minds her one day a week, she goes to a childminder 3 days and my mam minds her one day. With this comes challenges with consistency, my husband and his mother have a good relationship where he can speak openly in methods we are using when dealing with tantrums etc and the childminder is very strict as she has to be when dealing with many children. But with my mam she's being the nice grandmother and let's her lead the way, I've tried to be subtle when saying things as anytime i comment she says but that's what nanny's do. It's so difficult as we met for coffee yesterday and it was hell my little one didn't know what was going on it was tantrum after tantrum as she couldn't deal with both me and my mam together as she can do what she likes when she's with my mam and she couldn't process it when we were both together, it was so bad that I can't do it again she was kicking scratching and she ended up hurting me at the end of it. Anybody have any advice on how to approach this? Thank you

Could you speak to your mam about it? Just explain to her how it's affecting your daughter - after her seeing the tantrums it should not be hard - and ask her to be a bit stricter, she doesn't have to be totally strict, but even a bit of common rules sounds like it will help. We had both grandmothers minding our daughter a couple days while I worked a 4 day week - while my mam was definitely the softest with her thankfully it didn't really impact her like that but was only about 10 wks or so she was between the 3 of us
