Missed miscarriage

Has anyone had a missed miscarriage and needed the medical intervention of the tablets to induce the miscarriage? I suffered a miscarriage over 3 weeks ago and I am still currently bleeding ( lightly) I’m also still still testing positive after 3 weeks ( faint positive line but noticeable ) ! Just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced and how long they bled for and when their regular cycle kicked in. My doctors told me I must use contraception for the first month and should have atleast one full cycle and period before trying again !? Yet I know others that were told differently. Any help or advice welcome please 🙏🏻

I had to have a d&c in February for a missed misscariage in my second trimester

I bleed for 30 days and tested positive for five weeks

Then starting trying again after my first cycle still no luck no baby so I'm giving up trying

Yes. My faint positive after 3 weeks was retained tissue (after 2 rounds of medical management) and I needed surgery in the end unfortunately. I was not given the same advice re contraception and waiting a month. I was advised that the only reason to wait is to help with dating purposes. We tried as soon as my bleeding had stopped, and I fell pregnant immediately, before a proper post loss period.

@chloe your so blessed with your rainbow 🌈

@Niki thankful every day for him ❤️ I hope if you do carry on trying that you don’t have to wait much longer for yours

I had a MMC and opted for surgical management (D&C) as I’d heard the tablets don’t always work and women end up needing surgery anyway. I also wanted to get closure and move on as soon as possible. The surgery went really well and I found it really quick and painless. My cycles took a little while to regulate again, around 5 months, and I was very regular before so it was frustrating. I conceived again 11 months after the MMC. Sorry for your MC and wish you all the luck for future 🤍

You can try again whenever you feel ready, the waiting is just to give your body time to adjust, recover and for dating purposes, but it’s down to you if you want to wait or not, there is no right or wrong x

Yes I had a missed miscarriage at 8 weeks and opted for tablets. I did pass the majority of tissue within 3 days but it took a week for light bleeding to stop and I tested positive right until my first true period. As tempting as it is to jump into TTC again, I would consider the advice to wait until a true period for both health and dating. You want to see negative tests before trying again to ensure you aren't retaining any material before another pregnancy. While it sounds trivial to wait for dating purposes, it's actually to do with making sure baby measures as it should when compared to the dates. Also some tests need to be done by a certain date (16 weeks I think) and there are markers for when heartbeat should be audible, for example. I'm so sorry you're having to go through this, it's just awful. To give you some hope, we conceived within two cycles of that miscarriage and are now 15 weeks with our rainbow baby. Please feel free to reach out to me if you want someone to talk to. X

I had a missed miscarriage last October. I found out at 12 week scan it may be that and at 13 weeks it was confirmed. I would say think about the way you want to proceed. I was not keen on the d&c and wasn’t sure on the medical managed one which is a pill or tablet you take (orally/ vaginally). I eventually passed it naturally 3 weeks after the last scan. In terms of trying again for a baby I was advised to wait 2 cycles, but got pregnant after my first cycle. I have spoken to some people on here that didn’t wait for a cycle and got pregnant straight after but your more likely to get pregnant in first 3 months anyway so I’m hoping you will get your rainbow baby. Best to wait for 1 cycle so you can track EDD.

We had a missed miscarraige august 26th didn't need intervention luckily but I did bleed for about 2weeks they scanned me last Wednesday which showed I'd passed majority of it and small amount left and that I was already ovulating and my period started on the Saturday but they did say to not try for at least 2 months to allow my body to recover and for me to mentally prepare as we were 9weeks
