Looking to drop your grocery bill?

Stop buying snacks! I did this from a youtube video recommendation and it has dropped my grocery bill a significant amount. Not all snacks mind you but I have stuck to whole fruit, not chopped trays, large cracker packages and big yogurt containers. The youtube video recommended staying away from prepackaged serving size things as they are much more expensive than a bigger package if the same/similar item. So anyways, it has worked for me so wanted to share. What I noticed happened is we just eat up more at meal times as well since there isn't a more fun snack option we are holding out for. Like if we just have saltines in the cupboard I am going to have 2 sandwiches than 1 because I am thinking I want to save room for the fruit snacks in there. Does this sound familiar?? Anyways, my kids haven't noticed any difference but I have and it is about 30-40$ less groceries each month!

What do you get for your kids for snacks what do you give them?

@Gabrielle crackers, fruit or yogurt 😊 or all three

See my son does like fruit or yogurt. It’s such a struggle lol

So true! Snacks are so expensive! I'm still working on my hubby on that one. But it does make a big difference in the grocery bill.

@Gabrielle that is tricky! I am sure he will like some fruit, at least eventually. It is so good! My favorite fruit is peaches 🤤

I already do this an it is true; it helps a lot

Yes! I’ll make protein bites, air pop popcorn or make a sweet treat instead. We also do fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, cheese sticks and meat sticks for snacks. Not always, because it can be alot of extra time.
