Sleep

Someone tell me their 6 month old doesn’t sleep through the night I’m feeling defeated and like the only one out of people I actually know whose kid sucks at sleeping lol.

My 13 month old still doesnt sleep through more than half of the nights 😅

My 11mo JUST started sleeping through the night for the first time (7:30pm-5:30am) and it’s still only 50/50 if he does

Babe.. it's so so very unrealistic to expect babe to sleep through the night until they're 1-2 years old 🫶🏻 and even when they start sleeping through the night then they hit their 12, 18, and 24 month regressions and it's back to shit sleep for a couple months. At 6 months they need to be waking often, babe needs to triple their birth weight in the first year, that takes a lottttt of milk, babe needs to wake and eat, and it prevents SIDS so even though you want babe to sleep through the night, I promise, you don't 🫶🏻 it won't last forever. This is completely developmentally normal, and you're gonna be okay 🫶🏻🫶🏻

@Kylee Imma also add on to this that "sleeping through the night" just means 6 hours of continuous sleep at night. It doesnt mean going from 8pm-8am. :)

@Stephanie yesss!! Sooo true. I'm so grateful I've been an aunt since 6 years old, and I have 21 nieces and nephews, and studied Child & Human Development before I had my twins, the unrealistic expectations social media puts on new moms is so overwhelmingly sad.

@Chantelle my 15 month old still wakes up hourly and I definitely get the feeling alone. You’re not alone. It SUCKS but just keep telling yourself it won’t last forever

My 7 month old is up every 1-2 hours. It feels like it might kill me.

My 2 year old isn’t sleeping through the night!😂 also maybe this will make you feel better. “Sleeping through the night” is actually defined as 6h straight. Only 6h. So that you don’t imagine 12h or something 😂 so based on that knowledge maybe your baby does sleep through the night after all?

My almost three year old JUST started sleeping through the night! Totally normal

Thank you all ♥️ he was sleeping though the night (10pm, 5am ish) at 3 months old but since then it’s been getting progressively worse. Some nights he sleeps a 3-4 hour stretch other nights he won’t go to bed and then wakes every hour or so.

@Chantelle that was us too, they slept through the night at 2m old, then at 3.5 months old they hit their 4 month regression, which just bled into their 6 month regression, so from 3.5-7 months old we slept like absolute shit. The 8 month regression was noticeable but not too shabby, 12 month regression was a little harder but still not as bad as 4/6 then they slept through the night again from 12.5-16ish months and now we're 17m.o. hitting our 18 month regression and most nights I'm LOSING my mind during a 2 freakin hour long bed time with both of them fighting their sleep with every ounce in their tiny bodies, and then they each wake up a couple times throughout the night yet again 😅 it's such an ebb and flow game 😅

@Chantelle fighting bedtime and waking up for longer at night means that he simply needs more awake time during the day! Try elongating each of his wake windows by 15min and see how that goes!!

If it helps my 5 year old still doesn’t sleep

my son is 1.5y and still doesn’t sleep through the night 🥲 i can maybe count on one hand how many times i got a full night sleep

My 9 month old still wakes up 2-3 times a night 😌😅

It's normal for a baby not to. They won't be well fed I've read. If sleep they don't eat.

My child didn't sleep through the night until she was like 3 lol

My 10 month hold has never slept more than 4 hrs straight. And that is very rare. Hang in there!

My pediatrician said he’s old enough to start sleep training but I just don’t have the heart to listen to him cry. I’ve tried leaving for a few minutes and coming back in and out periodically but it just seems to heighten his crying. Anyone have any good experience sleep training?
