Gotta love how our parents failed us by giving us no real life skills lol. You have a few options: *The least toxic one: make a paste with baking soda and lemon juice, rub it all over the oven and let it dry. Once it’s dry wipe it off. *Use The pink stuff paste. This thing cleans everything lol. Have to say the one that comes in the container seems better than the bottle as it isn’t so liquid. *Use LA’s Totally Awesome degreaser. Be careful you have to dilute it and test it on a spot as this thing is strong and can take off paint…learned the hard way when I accidentally stripped the paint from my kitchen hood :D To save your arms maybe get yourself a brush/sponge drill extension as there will be a lot of scrubbing if it hasn’t been cleaned for so long.
@Rema I’m scared to try the setting! I’ve heard it can explode.
@Boryana thanks for the tips! I honestly made peace with my parents before I had kids (very traumatic childhood) but I got very resentful of them again once I had my daughter 🥲
@Sarah 🎀 I feel you. The rule in my parents house was “no kids allowed in the kitchen as they’re messy”…had to learn on my own how to cook, preserve my food or even clean. Now I live 5000miles away from them. Also about the self clean option on the oven shortens its life so it isnt something you should use often and honestly doesn’t do anything to old stains. Some manuals recommend once every 4 months if you’re baking often or once a year if used for general cooking.
@Sarah 🎀 not to scare you but I used the self clean mode 1 time on a brand new oven. Only had it for 1 year and thought I better clean it before the holidays. It actually started a fire inside my oven! I refused to even cook in my oven for the longest time!
The pink stuff paste is amazing
@N 💞 thank you!
@Kimberly 😭 terrifying. I’ll probably never use that function.
@Sarah 🎀 I'll never use it again. Lemon juice, dish soap, and I think baking soda is what I use now. My friend who is also a house cleaner told me to use it.
@Kimberly oh I think I’ve seen a few videos of using the lemon as the sponge. Does it work well?
@Sarah 🎀 yes! Let it sit a little and I haven't had issues
I usually just turn the self clean on and when it’s done I wipe it down with a damp cloth.
