I wouldn’t get my son circumcised either, it’s more to do with a woman’s preference of a penis than it being an actual medical condition. Totally different if there is a medical need for it. The way I look at it is this - would you take your daughter to be circumcised? Because that’s effectively what it is for girls too. I know they call it genital mutilation but why is it any different for boys/men? Their genitals are being mutilated (not in the sense of being chopped up or whatever, it’s neat obviously, but still taking a part away).
@Kimberley I didn’t get my son circumcised either but it is definitely not like female genitalia mutilation I think you should look into it honestly I didn’t get my son circumcised because I was afraid of the healing process female genitalia mutilation in most cases is completely removing the clitoris so they have no sexual stimulation and more often than not remnants of nerves are left behind and cause issues because they become exposed not only that if there isn’t issues like that clitoral stimulation is 0 for men who are circumcised they still have feeling and not to mention there are benefits to be circumcised like preventing hpv not only for themselves but for their partners in the future I just think to compare the two is ignorant as hell
And not only that female genitalia mutilation can cause issues with giving birth did you know that ?!
My husband was the first and only uncircumcised man I’ve been with (can confirm he is the cleanest man I’ve ever met hygiene wise) but I think if a lady doesn’t accept it it’s not HIS lady it weeds out a lot of superficial people. I used to think if I’d had a boy I would do it but not anymore I don’t think it’s worth it
I did research and even watched videos to see exactly what they’d be doing to my baby 😢 but as a non penis having woman I left most of the decision up to my husband, a penis having man lol I just didn’t feel 100% confident making a decision about a body part I don’t have. Also the doctors at the hospital gave us the pros and cons and we ultimately chose to get him circumcised. We would hate for him to want to get the surgery later in life with way more complications and pain. I will also say that there was no blood and he didn’t even seem uncomfortable as we changed him, and you have to put a glob of ointment on their whole downstairs and the diaper.
All it takes is showing them the right routine from a young age, same goes for little girls. I know a lot of women who had to grow up not being taught the proper way of cleaning themselves and had to learn it on their own
