Money problems

I’m starting to stress so bad. I’m not working cause I’m a month and a half postpartum with no vehicle at that but I’m in so much debt. My credit card is maxed out at 2k, I owe 18k in car loan debt to a car that got repossessed, and the best part is I got charged $600 the day I went into labor from the irs for apparently underreporting my taxes in 2020 which I obviously don’t remember anything about so now my bank account is -$600 I don’t know where to start to even take care of the debt. I always thought I’d make sure I had great credit for my future kids but now I have my first and my credit is already shit and now I have baby fees on top of trying to get out of debt with no job

I’ve recently got myself on Vinted! Sold 4 items in less than 24 hours! Recommend you try and get yourself on it or something similar if that’s not available for you, might not be much (and you sadly don’t get the money until parcels have been received) but it’s such a big help for some extra cash xx

Mama. I have BEEN where you are. I unfortunately had to send my baby to daycare at 6weeks while i busted my butt at a fast food place. All my credit cards were maxed out and my bank account was in the negatives. Its hard as hell. No one is going to help you out but there are things you CAN do. Find a facebook group, look for in home child care as those tend to be significantly cheaper, find a fast food place to work at (just to get some income coming in) and apply for better jobs as you work. Days will be filled with tears. You will think youre a terrible mom. But youre not. Youre doing what you can to provide for your baby. And that is ALL that matters. If you dont already, try to apply for a cresit card with capital one. They are the most lenient for credit score and amount loaned. $200 is the lowest i have gotten approved for with a 550 credit score and history of collections. Open a high yield savings account if youre interested. This isnt investing or anything like that, so you wont get rich

And i am still struggling paycheck to paycheck. Husband lost his job AGAIN and we may be separating now WITH baby #2 on the way. Im not trying to sell you on anything like that. Just giving advice on what im doing.

Heya. Me and my partner have got into extreme debt and bad circumstances that have made us homeless. Luckily we have the housing sorted however we unfortunately had to go through a DRO. The other comments are good ways to make money however due to how much debt and how much stress it is I suggest talking to a debt adviser. DROs are defo the last resort but the relief you feel once all that debt is covered could literally be the thing that saves ur mental from plummeting. I hope everything turns out ok 🩷

@V what is a DRO? Im technically in a LOT of debt but ive paid off a lot by doing surrogacy. This is NOT for everyone. But i was lucky to be able to do it. Now im 2k in credit card debt, 18k in student loans, and 190k for my home. (Husband and I do not share debt....so all of this is mine and on me) Ive also been the bread winner for 3 years. I pay all the bills and TRY to contribute to savinga but rn....nope

@Julie a DRO is a debt relief order. I’m not sure if they have them in the USA or something similar but in the uk they basically clear your debt. You can have one within 6 years and it does come with downsides. For example it’s hard to buy a house until 6 years after, you can’t earn over a certain amount and if you do the DRO will be canceled. Again I’m not sure if they have them in the US but they will defo have something similar so worth a look!

Oooh thank you. Yeah ours is bankruptcy and it has a lot of downsides.
