I don’t ‘ground’ my child but when I take his electronics off him he can obviously be anywhere in the house Including in the garden with a football etc

4- although he doesn't go out anyway, just no electronics

I take electronics and tell them to go be kids. Usually my 11 yo pulls out a book within seconds. And the 7 year old is off on her bike/scooter or hunting frogs and snails near the house.

My child is not of grounding age yet , but it would have to be number 4 , I would never ground to a bedroom as it should be their safe space to go to when they want.

I never had any electronics so I was 'grounded' in the house😅 I'm not sure that taken electronics away really makes any difference😅 If I ever did ground my daughters (not sure if I will, that's another conversation with my husband) I doubt that I'll take any of their belongings away. I never had any of mine taken away 🤷🏼‍♀️

Can I be grounded to my room with my electronics now please

Grounded to room. They have TVs they can watch in their rooms. But we take their phones and computers

Whatever is the most uncomfortable. I would have loved being grounded to my house/room with electronics/books

Ehh I dont believe in grounding tbh. Punishment should be relevant to the crime. I can’t imagine a scenario where its applicable to ground them at home other than them sneaking out or something. Even then, theyll probably just sneak out again. Thoughtless punishment reminds me of how when you traunt school and the school suspendeds you for a few days, like… you’re taking me out of school because I didnt want to go to school? Thanks! 😂

@Ezgi what would the punishment be for throwing bricks at a friends cat, taking their siblings snacks, pinching money out of the house and taking my eyebrow shaper to the park threatening other children 🤔 because honestly im at a loss

Its all really dependent on age but: Throwing bricks at a cat - harming another creature/person would depend on intention. If they don’t know any better, then just talking & explaining. If it was out of anger in the moment then teaching techniques to deal with anger. If its just because or for a laugh, straight to a psychologist. Stealing snacks- you now have to share from your snack or if youve finished it then half of your next snack goes to sibling. Pinching money- a talk & “working” to make it back as well as returning the item purchased assuming its a physical object. Threatening kids- again same as first + losing specifically park privileges for a week There’s no right or wrong way of handling things, this is just what I would do 🥰
