I’m a daycare provider and for the first payment I charge a deposit to go towards the last 2 weeks of care, plus the care for the first 2 weeks, so it could be that? You should have an invoice or something to break down the costs
Unfortunately I've learned every daycare seems to have their own way of payments, how often, how they calculate it and so forth. The only thing I can think of is possibly included with the first payment is a registration fee and deposit.
@Alexandria hi! We are in a licensed centre and they're enrolled with CWELCC. Maybe it's a one time first & last payment thing? 🤔
Ohh okay, but they haven't emailed us any invoice nor notice that the payment will be Friday 🫠 just wanna confirm, if it's legally okay to ask for a breakdown of fees? I remember reading from their website about them not being required to let parents know about fees changing or smth like that. That'd be too unfair. @Bre🕊😌
@Taylor ohh I'm pretty much new to this system so I'm still confused 🥲 we paid the registration fee a couple of months ago to secure baby's spot so maybe it's a first & last payment but when I calculate it, it doesn't really makes sense :/
I would totally ask for a breakdown of the fees -- you can also review any paperwork they gave you or you signed before your little one started to get clear on it all.
We pay 460 every month …and my son goes Monday to friday
We actually only signed a registration package which only contains mostly permissions from parents. I tried to remember and look for it anywhere in the inbox but there's none. Is that normal? Or they'd normally give you something? @Ada
Oh, that wasn't our experience. Hmm, on Monday, I would ask them for details about the payment deadlines and amounts. You need to get a breakdown of the costs for sure -- they should be able to give you an invoice or something. As @Bre🕊😌 mentioned there could be some sort of deposit (I know that we paid a deposit -- I'm in Ontario outside of Toronto), but you totally need to know what is going on. I hope all goes well on Monday!
Did you get it all figured out?
@Taylor yes! So it's for my baby's first 2 weeks and the following 2 weeks. They deducted the days from the first week since LO started in the middle of the week. So instead of 10 days for first 2 weeks, they charged us for only 7 days. That's why my calculations were never exact 😅
That's what I pay on a monthly basis before subsidy (404.50) !! Are you in a private or a licensed facility
