I would say if that’s what you prefer to just ask. That’s all I’ve asked for, whenever someone has asked me for a registry (I don’t have one) I just say “I’m trying to wait until baby arrives to buy most of their items and I would prefer a voucher/gift card” and then give a list of shops. The only time I don’t ask for this is if someone is offering to pass down something to me in which case I say “yes” or “no” I would say I’m more comfortable doing this than most because for my wedding I also just asked for gift vouchers or cash. But most people are understanding, if they don’t want to gift a gift card then that’s the end of that conversation really.
@Zöe Thank you. I also don’t want to get disappointed hoping that I would get something eventually and it doesn’t get gifted
@Nthabiseng Thank you. There will be so much much I can do for baby with the gift cards. I appreciate your advice
You don’t have to share it, I have asked for Amazon gift cards instead of sharing my baby wish list so they can still contribute to it 😊 my baby shower is this Saturday, hopefully I will get what I asked for 🙏🏻
If you're using Amazon for the registry you can mark things as private only. That's what I've done ☺️
