Slow labor or false labor?

Last night around 7pm I started to have contractions. I was having then every 20 minutes and they started getting closer together, I went for a walk to stimulate more and they got as close as 8 minutes a part. The way they felt was like a back pain that moves to my lower belly and thighs. They weren’t necessarily getting stronger, but they were getting longer. My doctor told me to only call when they were 5 minutes a part, so we went to bed. I woke up a couple times with contractions but then this morning they just stopped completely. I’m 40 weeks exactly today, I have an appt at 11am this morning, so definitely will talk to my provider, but was wondering if anyone went through that and if I should ask her something specific and what not. 🙏thank you

My water broke at 36+2 but I was having actual contractions for a month before then. I went to L&D SO many times because the contractions were brutal but they never dilated me until my water broke 😅 not super helpful or what you wanna hear but sometimes contractions just happen, but I hope it is real and you go into full blown labor soon!!! ❤️

Yes this happened to me just yesterday I went in for induction couldn’t handle a cervical exam and went home but I started contracting that morning felt like a period so I just took a nap and they started to get a little stronger but longer (felt like a really bad cramping now) as well by 9pm I started going to the hospital I found out I was 5cm dilated. It’s probably slow labor i

I’m so ready!! Hahaha thank you for the info

Literally the exact same thing happened to me too and I am also 40 weeks today. Finally was able to sleep and they went away.

@Bianca-Itzel Ulloa Cervantes I wonder if it’s placebo contractions cause I’m due today 🫠🫠🫠

Sounds like not in labor yet but your body is getting ready! Probably dilated more now. This is what happened to me too.

It could be early labor! I was just reading about it and it can go on and off for a few days.

Seriously same thing happened to me yesterday! They were about 10 minutes apart. Felt like period cramps woke me up from a dead sleep for about 3 hours then they subsided and turned into Braxton hicks. I’m 40 weeks in 2 days!

My September baby was kind of similar. I had 9 hours of easy (can breathe through) contractions 20-30 minutes apart. They never got worse or closer together… until they did, and I delivered my baby girl 6 hours later. I could have sworn it was false contractions until they got stronger all of a sudden
